I have a 1986 strat that was used by a local guitarist for normal gigging he traded it in on a used 2006 '62 hot rod and I paid $500 for it. The neck is well worn and feels great. After buying it I found out the orignal owner came back to buy it back. I changed the pickups to a EMG DG-20 set and it sounds great . It has some dings and is fadded and worn but you dont have to worry about hurting it it has become my #1 .

Nice guitar.

To me, that's been babied almost too much. A guitar that's 28yrs old and has gigged all over shouldn't look like it just came off a shelf, still polished. It shouldn't be broken, but it should look like a musician's guitar. Maybe that's just me though.

Good find, though, and a great guitar...

Yam...looks "lecker"

My second Guitar was a Fender Lonestar Strat in Olympic White boutht '96 new in a Guitar Store, Tortoys Pickguard, 2 Texas Special PU's, 1 Seymore Duncan Pearly Gates HB. I have replaced it this year to a Seymore Duncan JB SH-4, that rocks.
During the years she has got some dings, the 2 single coils and potis are now more dirt white.
She sounds warm and fat, I am really happy with her...my Loni...

Have much fun with yours

I agree, that guitar doesn't even look played, much less gigged a lot.

Nice one though.

I agree. My Squier has been gigged a few times and it looks worse than that.

I have a fender *Squire* stratocaster, but that doesn't matter. anyway I got mine when I turned 12, and I love it to death. Its metallic blue, with a white pick guard. I put stickers all over it.

I don't have any *great* stories, but all of my strats have little stories. Like this one.

Some many years ago, I see an ad in the paper of a guy selling a lefthanded black strat. When I went to check it out, it turns out the guy is lefthanded, and plays lefthanded, but with the strings strung righty. (BTW, that's what Albert King does too.) So it was easy enough for me to try it out. He had two lefty guitars. both black, this strat and a Les Paul Custom, but he was only selling the strat.

I paid a bit more for it than what the usual used Strats were going for then, because I got into a little bidding war with some other guy, but I've been happy with it.

Well my first strat was a 1997 squier dakota red and i played the s#%! out of that guitar, i had a first act strat copy prior to that not such a big fan anyhoo, i just recently purchased a 1984 fender MIJ for $175 from a good friend. when i got it the headstock was cracked, the action was jacked up and it had no tone volume knobs and no springs. But it is now fixed and i love it.
