Happy Friday!

This is my new acquisition, hopefully will keep me away from GAS for the time being. I have dreamt of this guitar for a while--Fender Strat with HSS configuration and a beautiful surf pearl finish. The p'ups are two Texas Special single coils and one Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates Plus humbucker. This is also one of my first posts in a long time on this site. I used to have a 2010 American Standard, but parted ways with it because I wasn't feeling it anymore. However, this particular Strat is here to stay ;)

That's a beauty. I like everything about it. How does that combo of pickups sound?

Drew365,

The pickups work well with each other. The Pearly Gates is pretty bright and glassy for a humbucker, which helps maintain the quack when combined with the middle Texas Special. Although bright and glassy, it's still got roundness of a traditional humbucker. I'm loving this pickup combo more and more as I continue to play it.

donnycraven,

I appreciate the comment! To avoid an extensive historical rundown of this guitar model, it was once referred to as the Lonestar back in 1996. In 2000, Fender started Hot-Rodded American Standards, which yielded the Big Apple/Double Fat Strat (2 Pearly Gates+), the American Texas Special (3 Texas Specials), and the American Texas Special Fat Strat (2 Texas Specials and 1 Pearly Gates+). Fender has also recently re-introduced the Roadhouse and Lonestar Strats, which I believe are both MIM.

Great find, TCB! 8)

That finish has been a topic of interest on the forum as it is quite uncommon. She's a looker, for sure.
