chromeface - no, I intended to do a comparison between this one, a surf green one, and a sunburst one. The surf green sold the day before I went to do the try-out, and this one was much nicer than the sunburst (which had been hanging too long in the Guitar Center environment). I was in the market for a rosewood fingerboard - that's what I started out with 34 years ago and I'm just used to it.

Nice, I like the colors of the FSR Strats. I went to Guitar Center and walked out with a shell pink FSR Am Std Strat this weekend. They had two, a sonic blue and the shell pink Strat. Love the Fat 50's and love the color. The Fat 50's have a vintage vibe with a little more output. I will have to post some pictures.

Got to keep the prices down. As much as I love a hardshell case, after lugging gear around, I prefer a gig bag.

The Fender padded "Deluxe" gig-bags are very nice.

Here is the shell pink FSR Am Std Strat I bought at Guitar Center last week. Love those Fat 50's pickups. This one is going to stock.

Very nice one Rick! My local GC never had a shell pink one, just the sonic blue that I bought and a surf green one. I see you also got the Pro Series case like I did.

I think cripps meant tolex, not leather.

Love the Shell Pink RickS. Very cool.

I didn't see any Shell Pink or Sonic Blue FSR American Standards but I did run across a Surf Green one. It jumped right into my arms and I had to take it home. I already have Sonic Blue nicely covered with an American Vintage '61 Thin-Skin Strat so the Surf Green was perfect.

Here's a pic of both guitars taken in the setting desert sun.
