I have a mexican strat and the bridge is prying up. So much i cant get my whammy bar to thread in. Why is this happening and how can i fix it. I need to have this fixed quick because my band is recording and the guitar won't stay tunned and sounds sour. Plus I don't want to lose my baby :!:

This may not be a quick home fix. You seem to be describing a tremolo system that is out of balance. The bridge is rotating forward. Your string gauges, tuning and tremolo block springs have to be in balance so that the block "floats'' where you want it. The trem claw inside the body cavity also has to be properly set. You must have the correct number of tremolo springs for the type of block, fulcrum design, and string gauge you are using. There's a reason why some strats have five, and others have 3 or less and it is all a matter of physics.

Get thee to a good guitar tech post haste. I strongly suggest that you have the bridge set so that the back of it sits flat on the top of the guitar at rest. This will give you the maximum amount of travel between the back of the bottom of the block and the rear of the tremolo cavity routing when the
tremolo is activated.

If you're piloting a divebomber, perhaps you should have a Floyd Rose equipped guitar as opposed to the Fender systems.

Loosen your stings a bit then screw the trem claw in tighter, retune and check how high the bridge. Repeat as necessary. If your problem is dfferent then what we are gathering from your description then stop and explain your issue again.

Did you restring with heavier strings?

Make sure when you are tightening the screws on the trem claw that you tighten both the exact same amount of turns.
