Hi, Guys, I could be gettng for very cheap price a FENDER FAT STRAT that simply just needs a new fretboard/neck/head/tuners.

Would like to know if there is suppose to be a certain size radius to look for?

If I got a SQUIRE Fretboard would that completely degrade the FENDER BODY?

what exactly is wrong with it ?

in an ideal world, repairing the neck you've got is the best option. unless of course its snapped in half or something. put a squier neck on it and the guitar wont be worth very much at all.

it more than likely has a 9.5 radius and a C shape neck, this is pretty much the standard for modern fenders.

however radius and shape are personal preference, if you need a new neck you can fit whatever you want as long as it fits in the neck pocket.

fender now sell official replacement necks, you might even be able to get a brand new fat strat neck.

WHAT, I need is this.

This guitar will be for my use and not for resale,

So like I said, would me finding a SQUIRE Neck for a FENDER BODY take away from the actual fender quality ?

Purpose of me doing this is getting a FENDER for almost nothing :)

Looks to me like a std Mexican strat neck, won't be expensive. Fret finishing may be better than that on a squire, especially if you go for a cheap Squier neck. I'd compare prices for a top end Squier neck and Mexico std neck, then buy the Mexican one anyway because it says fender on it.
