That's right. But, FWIW... the Ash Strat sounds better like all Ash Strats do :)

What kind of Ash there is Northern Ash, Swamp ash or another? Density and weights are different. Weight is a factor to sound.

Actually, Leo used Ash on the first strats, and Alder only started being used because of the inconsistency of Ash. Who knows why Leo chose Ash, it could very well have been for the tone. :idea:

I am not sure why people don't understand that the acoustic resonance of a guitar body does indeed contribute to the tone/sustain when played through an amp. :roll:

It does, but that contribution is minimal as you would appreciate.
