Notice your original humbucker uses 3 mounting screws. How many does your new pickup use?

The new pickup has one mounting screw on each side. A screw hole will be drilled between the two screws on the OEM pickguard to accommodate the new pickup..

If its a trembucker it has a dual screw setup as well.
You don't have to drill any holes.

I asked because I saw some Trembuckers that had the 3 holes and some that had just 1 hole (per side).

Roger that :) if he ordered the right one JB Trembucker it should fit perfect no Mods.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm going to make sure I get 3 hole Trembucker.

I would for sure, drilling that hole in the middle of the two holes looks tacky.
The Seymour Duncan JB will sound great and the fact it will match in white is nice.
Having it look OEM is just as cool.
Otherwise you can upgrade to the Lone Star pickguard by getting a white pearl.

Those three screw humbuckers are a pain to replace, you've got to either drill the pickguard or replace it entirely.

This guy makes replacement humbuckers with three screws to fit the Fender pickguards, he's based a few miles from me and he seems to make excellent pickups. I might even get myself one of his three-screw humbucker sized Wide Range Humbucker clones ...

The Seymour Duncan Trembucker does fit its a direct replacement.
But yeah most times I just got a Lone Star pickguard.

Yeah, why buy a pickup and then have to buy a new pickguard too.

The drill a new hole solution is kind of tacky (unless you could figure out a good way to fill the unused holes).

Some sort of white epoxy maybe.

Back to that Seymour Duncan Jeff Beck Trembucker.

I installed one on a guys Les Paul and he or I didn't like it compared to the Gibson 498t.

But I took that same pickup and put it in a Stratocaster for him and holy smokes!
It lit that baby up like a firecracker.
It is the all around perfect Medium High output Strat pickup.

I'm not a fan of the JB humbucker, I found it just has high output and lots of midrange but not much actual tone. If I was going for that sound but with a more refined tone I'd install a Bare Knuckle Crawler in the bridge.

I talked to Seymour Duncan customer service and was told that Seymour Duncan does not make the Trembucker or humbucker with Fender 3 hole mount. I'm going to send my Fender Diamond Back pickup to Seymour Duncan and have it rewound to JB Trembucker Specs. When I get the pickup back and installed I will post picks of before and after. Thanks for all of your help.

I am pretty sure that trembucker does fit but whatever you want to do. I never heard of Seymour Duncan rewinding your pickup. Thats news to me.
Well good luck with that.
