Hi Nik, can you post a close up pic of your bridge?

Korean OEM Floyd Rose. These are stock, you cannot buy these as separate units.
Made to similar specs to the actual American units, though the dimensions & thicknesses are different:

Given the price of the MIM Floyd Equipped models, if they had American or German units they would be far more expensive. Only the 90's American Floyd Rose Strats had the actual Original, and they also had Dimarzio PAF pro pickups. Also Japanese Heartfield models had them too- where everything else MIM or MIJ had Floyd Rose II. Nowdays Japanese models sport Gotoh locking bridges and MIM sport Asian made and branded Floyds. Ping are the only company to license the Floyd Rose name, all other Asian units are labeled "Floyd Rose" with either a transfer or a laser etching.

Below is a Floyd Rose you would buy as a boxed unit from Floyd Rose, made in USA:

Another difference is the block is steel on actual originals where the ping models are shorter and made of brass.

Not true, the Floyd Rose Original's sustain block is plated Brass, for whatever reason, the MIM Floyd plustop has the Ping(like previous MIM Floyd Standards/yours) The Blacktop/Evh striped series/Charvel MIM/MIJ Floyds, have the Floyd Special. The Floyd Rose Original was fitted to the MIA Floyd Rose Classic + pre/Sambora (prototype) MIJ Hot Rod 50's/60's Reissue's.

Indeed the HRR was, infact I have seen a rare few that have been shipped with Kahler trems.

I have to correct myself here-

Upon looking at the plus top Floyd, What Is intriguing me is that the absence of the "Licensed Under Floyd Rose Patents" and the Ping logo next to the Trem arm cavity.

Interesting. I can only think that Ping have lost rights to place ther logo with the Floyd Rose or this is a completely different unit altogether, although. It does look like a Ping though. What I want to know is, why were fender listing the bridges as 'Floyd Rose Original' when it is not made by Floyd Rose?

Why have they now changed the specs on the Standard Strat to now have a cheaper Floyd Rose Special? This must have only happened recently.

FRT 1000 models are OEM on certain manufacturers. I'm going to buy a MIJ Charvel San Dimas next month which will have this model on it. These trems are a little better than the 'Special' in terms of construction although not as solid unit like an original

The Floyd Rose Classic series sported the PAF Pros initially.

Fender replaced those DiMarzio humbuckers with their own DH-1 Atomics in 1998 before switching to the Diamondback in late 2002/early 2003.
