I read this thread last night for a little entertainment. Glad our own Did I miss something on this thread? I see a few quotes for a user name "newbie101"...was he a troll? Ummm :? I am glad we have our Schwartz (glad he has a great sense of humor as well!) Also Blertles, you know what we are talking about in the Marty Python quote?   Ok, the Ultra is winning, which is a good choice and has my vote.

Well Guys, I have to say that this thread has DEFINITELY taken a very strange turn! I also have to admit that I really tried to find a photo of Jennifer Lopez dressed as Yoda and wearing a sombrero in a scene from Life of Brian, but Goggle just isn’t that good.

Still not sure about holding on to the Ultra, but the GAS is fading for now. However, I have to say that I had a great laugh at the emails I have received from one guy who wants to buy it, but wants to low-ball me. He even sent me photos of all the Ultras he currently owns – including mine! Next, I’m expecting him to ask if I’ll send it to his girlfriend’s aunt’s brother who lives in Nairobi!

Anyway guys, to everyone who has taken the time to give me your opinions and who has voted, I want to say thanks. I really appreciated it (although my wife didn’t when she saw me googling photos of Jennifer Lopez  )

Cheers

Tony

Hang on to the Firestorm mate. It's a beautiful rare finish.
The un-named one has an agenda to acquire all known examples

Goodonya ...Mark.

I agree. The one he has is very rare as they made very few "Ultra" firestorm guitars. A lot more Teles and Strat Plus' kicking around. And even after I offered him $300 and a dozen Guinea pigs he would not sell it too me.... so now I am working on asking my girlfriend’s aunt’s brother who lives in Nairobi to help out....

Epoxy, If you are not the troll who has been plaguing us forever then you should be aware that Firestorms are forbidden topics around here. It is an unofficial and unwritten rule. It is not forbidden by the board rules or by Fender. It is forbidden by the board members at a grass roots level. It doesn't matter if anyone thinks it's fair. It's just the way it is. If you are not that troll then you will be able to become a regular member in good standing and begin posting on this board on a variety of topics as long as the Firestorm finish is never once mentioned.

Not.

One.

Single.

Time.

Your response to my comments here as well as your level of compliance with the requirement I have just laid out for you will be closely examined with a fine toothed comb by me and also by the other members of this board who are watching silently in the background right this very second. Please understand that there is no room for debate on this subject. Any argument from you on this will very likely result in your being badgered by the group until one of two things happens. 1) You leave voluntarily or 2) You are kicked out by management.

I am leaving you with one question which I am obligating you to answer. That question is:

"Can you become a member of this board and never once for the rest of eternity even so much as mention a Firestorm finish or a Firestorm guitar or any other use of the word Firestorm?"

The only possible answers available to you are "Yes" or "No".

If your answer is yes and you prove to us that you are not a troll and that you wish to become a valued member here then you will have a long and enjoyable and informative stay here. If your answer is No or if you try to question the conditions I have just spelled out for you then I forsee a very short future here for you.

The choice is yours.
