My Deluxe Roadhouse, arrived today, I bought it on amazon.
Everything looks good, but i don't understand why this one
have white pickguard, instead of dark red.

Serial Number is MX10179919
Number On The Barcode: M03059533 (and the same number is under neck)
Number on body under Pickguard: MO3023580, so its diffrent.
How Can i recognize Texas Special Pickups?

Could You help me to identify if this is a real Deluxe Roadhouse?
Please Help!

Hi vws7,

Texas Special pups, although yours probably don't have the stickers, they should look like this, with a red dot on the bridge pup and a blue dot on the neck pup, cloth covering on the wires, with the middle pup having one yellow instead of white. Looking at your pictures, you do not have TS pups, they look like Standard ceramic pups. Possibly you have a Mexican Standard Strat. :(

Hi shimmilou,

Exactly what you written. I don't have stickers on pups, also they look different.
Looks like these in example: Image

This is strange for me, because neck and headstock looks like Deluxe Series...
What you think about this situation?

The Deluxe Roadhouse Strat is supposed to have the large headstock and a pearloid pickguard.

Yep, those are not TS, and look like Standard pups. Another strange thing is the serial number on the front of the headstock, it should be on the back after 1996.

Edit:
I see on the product page for the Roadhouse, the serial number is on the front. Did not know that.

Who was the seller through Amazon?

Oh, I see, the "Deluxe Series" now has two RH models: the Roadhouse (that has a headstock and logo like yours) and the new Deluxe Roadhouse (that you can see in the link I gave above). Both are supposed to have Texas Specials.

I do notice that the serial number is a 2010 number. Is the guitar a couple years old, NOS?

The newly released ones have the large 70's-style headstock. Previous models have the small headstock with a spaghetti logo (it also has a "Deluxe Series" decal where the "original contour body" decal would have been) and have a faux shell pickguard.

The new Roadhouses are huge-sounding active beasts as they boast a V6 rotary system under the hood.

Yeah, I can't imagine choosing the old version over this new "Deluxe Deluxe Roadhouse".

The easiest way to tell if you have higher end pickups is the wiring... Texas Specials and other Custom Shop pickups have wax coated cloth wiring. The standard MIM pickups have the thin wiring. Unless this guitar was used, it should have the brown tortoise shell pickguard. If the pickguard isn't right and the pickups aren't wax coated cloth, you didn't get what you pay for. Only the brand new Roadhouse Strat has the 70's headstock, anything older than this year doesn't. I've had both the Roadhouse and the Lonestar. The only difference is rosewood fretboard and a humbucker bridge on the Lonestar.

Image

I swapped the neck on this one to a Lonestar Rosewood and changed the hardware from Chrome to Gold...

Notice the pickguard's and the headstock shape.

Both sport Texas Special pickups.

The new Roadhouses feature a special V6 rotary tone shaping circuit which turns this gritty blues-rock machine into a fiery metal-bangin' axe!

Okay, that's good news. I hope it meets your expectations.

Did they give you an explanation for that first guitar?

No, I don't even asked. I'm still wondering which type of body is the first guitar.
Seems little bit heavier then the second, maybe it is a illusion, i don't know. I will try to weight it today. Is this possibly to identify the material of body using Number on Barcode (MO3023580) or in any other way? :)
