Yes, but can you tell us who is the best one-legged flute player that won and award for heavy-metal album of the year?

Lets not forget our friends at Dimarzio who sank their teeth into Paul Gilberts mind and came up with the injector series pickups. I put an Injector Loaded Pickguard on my 2012 FSR Aztec Gold strat Deluxe and boom! Instant Rock, Blues, Heavy, etc.... It has an area 67 in the middle position! Love having such tonal range.

Cheers and Champions,
JDK

I have always thought that Strats just look and sound "right" with single coils, although I do have a couple with hum-buckers for the heavy sounds that I can't get from single coils. I don't use pedals much, I just prefer guitar and amp.

+1

The Virtual Vintage line is no slouch either!

Richie Sambora uses SSS, SS, HSS and HH.

He also plays HHH on many several occasions.

I recently got to spend a lot of time with the guitarist from pre-eminent anarcho/crust band Police Bastard.
He turned me back to singlecoils. Explained to me that in todays world pickup power means little with the amount of gain available from a modern amp. High output pickups are from a time when you didn't get a gain control on your amp.
It got me thinking about when I first got my first Strat. A Mexican cheapie. I swapped the pickups for vintage noiseless and it was the worst thing I'd ever done. The cheapo ceramic singles were monsters.

He uses a Les Paul Jr into a Mesa Stiletto. Sounds Brutal.

This is his guitar straight into my amp and my fail attempt at remembering how to play metal.
Iphone recording.

And this picture reminds me of a couple more of my favorite Strat heavy metal players, Nils Lofgren and Bonnie Raitt.
