Good info there Doc, thanks for the heads up.

Any time. We got into this on another thread way back when. Good 'ol Chromeface came up with an early pic of the guitar. I recall first seeing this guitar at a Long and McQuade in Parsippany NJ around the time it was first released. It was red. I was rushed, and had it in my hands only briefly. I remember that what I thought was a second volume control was what I came to learn was the midboost pot. It did not have the mini-toggle.

Not only the 35th Anniversary.

The Richie Sambora signature models do have that midboost bypass switch in the form of a push-push button.

As for the Clapton strat, it would be nice to be able to bypass the boost with a S1 switch.......hmmm. Somebody please snap me out of it before I spend money I don't have..

Consider yourself slapped. Now to a bit of history. The first concept for the Clapton circuit was to have a mini-toggle switch to cut the preamp in and out. There are early adverts with the guitar so equipped. That was scrubbed on Eric's request that the preamp be on all the time, thus the jack activated circuit. However, the 1990 35th Anniversary Stratocaster does have that toggle switch in its circuit. You'll find a pic of one on the last page of the Strat Plus thread just above.

Good info there Doc, thanks for the heads up.

The irony of it all is that just about a month after writing this I bought that very guitar. :!:  8)

Yes you did ZZDOC...and we are anxiously awaiting the photos!

As for different guitars, I used to only bring two to my gigs...My 57 Reissue Strat and '54 Reissue Esquire. Used the Strat for most songs except a couple, The Midnight Hour, Pink Cadillac, and Hey Baby by Ted Nugent...for some reason that Esquire just worked for those!
