Well the 60TH Anniversary for the Strat is just around the corner so what do you think/hope Fender has in store for us?

I expect a 60th ann badge on all US and Mex guitars, and an actual ann model in either Am Std or Am Dlx. What are the odds of that?

I've been wondering that lately too. I predict some two-tone sunburst finishes.

I kind of hope your wrong. I would like to see a Anniversary model but it has to be a American made model. I don't want every 2014 Strat made to be a Anniversary model. Maybe even use 1954 decals on them.

Read my post again, you missed it, that is what will happen. Typically for Fender/Strat anniversaries, ALL Am and Mex, and some others, will have the ann badge, whereas there will only be one or two actual ann models, and of course they will be Am.

Of course, everyone that has a badge on their guitar will refer to it as an ann model, when it is not.

I saw a lot of ads for 50th Anniversary Strats a couple of years ago. I'd send them an email with the pic below and tell them, "THIS is what a 50th Anniversary Strat looks like."

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Mebbe even build it to 1954 specs......ash body, nitro finish, vintage routs, 21 frets, etc.

I'm still enjoying my '04 50th Anniv American Series Strat. I suspect that Fender will do the same thing they did with the 40th Anniv Strat.

40th? Is that when they released 1,994 special anniversary reissue guitars?

No. Though that is one of the spacial guitars created for that year, I'm talking about the American Std. with the small metal "40th Anniversary" logo on the headstock, and a special neck plate. All American Std. Strats received this pin and neck plate. Other than that, they were just Strats of that period.

Just as with the 50th Anniversary in 2004, Fender created a few different models of Anniversary Strat, to go with a player's price point. There are as follows:

CS 1954 Strat
American Dlx w/ 2-color-sunburst, gold hardware, case and special badging.
American Series w/ 2-color-sunburst special CS '54 pup, case and badging.
MIM Gold Strat with special badging and tweed gig bag.

All other Strats are just Strats, and not Anniversary models. the 50th Anniversary was unique and was presented as such. Other decades, not so much.

Strat with the 50th & 60th Anniverary "stickers" and "metal coins" are not anniversary models (and should never advertised as such. It just confuses buyers).
