Has anyone thought about making a Fender Stratocaster Double Neck. Why doesn't Fender make a production model and see how it goes! They could use the Stratocaster XII 12 string neck. JUst a Thought

Thats not such a bad idea. There are times I wish I had a double neck.

You are going to get opinions going both ways.

Mine is against it. I really don't think there would be enough demand for it.

You're probably right, demand would be almost nill. Certainly not enough for production runs. I guess if you really wanted one you could talk to the Custom Shop. I'm sure they'd build one for a price.

I have seen twp . 12 string on top and 6 on the bottom. Second was bass on top and 6 string on the bottom. Both were fender strat shaped bodies. I am pretty certain that one of them was a real fender, of course I could be wrong. Fender decals are available everywhere it seems.

That double-neck pictured above is/was Yngwie's. Notice the scallops.

i don't think the demand would be hig enough to produce them.... i'm not such a big fan myself.... i liked the looks af the gibson / epiphone SG style doubleneck, and was even considering getting one... but when i actaully played it, it was uncofortable and the transitions was akward (it would probably come with time)

I only recently learned about Yngwie's doubleneck(s). That easily makes him the most famous doubleneck strat user!

I built one (a 6/6, not 12/6) earlier this year:

Yesterday, I ran across a doubleneck for sale at Ed Roman -- it's claimed to have been one of Yngwie's and it's only $13500. I'm sure you can find it if you are interested in purchasing.

Warmoth makes doubleneck Strat bodies and pickguards, if you want one bad enough.

Yeah, Gravity Jim, that's where I got the Sonic Blue body for my doubleneck project (linked to above).

The necks were from MIM Standard Strats.

The pups were vintage ones (early- and mid-'70s) I had about.
