Yah!! Obvious why they chose the Haggard Tele for the cover. It's MSRP is presently $8200 US. The way the Custom Shop is headed it looks like I'll never be ready again. The juice is becoming not worth the squeeze. Not for the specs I want in a Fender guitar anyway.:?

The book is wonderful its like one big Fender catalog :)
Its beautiful and licensed by Fender.
The DVD is so fun they start from the first Broadcaster.
The old amps they demonstrate and guitars are wonderful.
These guys are just amazingly versatile players too
They show why & how Leo worked with the country players at first.
They demonstrate surf music and the reverb unit
they play vintage 50s and 60s strats jaguars jazz masters teles etc.
They set up rows of tweed amps and just plug into each and show the differences.

The info I gave about Leo actually adding the large headstock and 3 bolt micro tilt to the strat came directly from the Stratocaster section of the tour.

He points it out and said many people associate these design changes with CBS but actually that's not the case.
These were actually all Leo's design changes and the last he would ever do to the Stratocaster.
That caught my attention since I owned a 1976 Stratocaster first in my life and my best friend still owns his first 1966 that I work on regularly.
I personally hated the 3 bolt micro tilt as a youth when I had it and preferred the 4 bolt on Mikes 66.
It never really caused any problems I just thought it was odd.
I prefer to this day the larger headstock and to me my 08 American Deluxe looks to small.

Anyway I do highly recommend this book to any Fender History lover.

Oh PS :)
You should have seen my moms face the first time I had my strat disassembled and laid out across my bed lol.
She yelled at me and started crying!
I explained to her it went right back together and I just needed to know how it worked.
I played it for her and showed her it worked still.
I will never forget that, she has gotten used to nothing be good enough for me now and me taking them apart and changing what I want some 30 years later.
I think I shall go visit her today. :)

The three bolt was phased in during 71 production but didnt get into full production until 72. You can find many 71s on ebay still with the 4 bolt.
