Love the looks.
I have a Highway One, which is essentially the same as the Special, and it is great, just a classic Strat.

The one in this picture is USA it was a Guitar Center exclusive they had both the SSS and HSS with rosewood.
I almost bought the HSS but when I went back someone beat me to it.
I think they should make it a standard color in the American Specials.
If I ever find a white HSS again with rosewood its mine.

It will receive Fender Locking tuners and a Blade Runner Tremolo.

I hate scalloped fretboards and cant tell you how many times I wanted a strat
that was ruined in this way.
Who would buy it besides a Yngwie wanna be?
Even the Blackmore strats are unusable because of this.

I don't have one and only tried one briefly, but I think it is fairly easy to adapt to a scalloped fingerboard.

Yeah, I'd try some Rainbow on one. I was never too interested in playing Yngwie stuff, but I loved the early stuff.

I did too like first 3 cds then I saw him live up close and experienced first hand how rude and pricky he was to his crew and band.
Lost me as a fan that night.

Im only really thinking American Specials from here on out with American standard bodies. So a white one with rosewood board and all white plastic is not so far out of reach for D's Custom Shop models ;)

We now have the American Deluxe, American Standard, American Special, and the American Vintage series. There is a sole Telecaster listed as American Standard. Reviewing specs I would suggest that, with the Stratocasters, all these bodies are alder unless a natural finish or something like Sienna Sunburst would dictate ash for the benefit of the grain. I would also expect that, except for the American Vintage series, and this is just speculation mind you, because I would expect the '56 model to be routed for SSS only, they would all be routed HSH for ease of production to accommodate guitars with humbuckers in their circuits. Often, bodies can differ in terms of quality of wood, or numbers of pieces assembled to form the blank from which the final body is cut. I look forward to additional contributions on this questions.

Doc

Or HHH to accommodate a third full-sized humbucker in the middle position.

Almost all Squiers, the MIJ Contemporary series and a few FSR American Fenders are routed for three humbuckers. But Fender never offered a 3-humbucker Strat with coil taps and splits.
