Hi,

I was wondering what kind of necks the strats had in 1968. Radius, shape, thickness, width. Couldn't find it (maybe I'm a very bad Googler) so I'm asking here. Thanks in advance :D.

Why wasn't that an answer? The thread shows measurements that I'm pasting below. Very few people accurately measure their necks so the odds of finding more than this is kind of slim:

1-5/8" Nut
7.25" Radius
Nitro Finish
21.90 @ 1st fret
24.90mm @ 12th fret

That are the specs for just one 1968 neck. I am sure they varied a lot. They used slab cap on that neck. Fat C shape.

CAD is a recent manufacturing process, necks made in the 70's, 60's and earlier varied in specs even though jigs were used.... Problem being that cutting blades dull and the machinery did not compensate for the change....
In today's machinery the computer measures the profile itself so that the blades are always at those measurements.......

There's plenty of published specs on the varying dimensions, but since it is technical and written mostly in prints / plans you have to search the techies ....
