Hi all,

not sure if this is the right place to post this within the forum but mods please feel free to move it if necessary.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GrlCxogWwAs

This is a track I recorded with my 2012 Clapton Strat retro fitted with gold Lace Sensors. I love the versatility and 'poke' of this guitar. I don't think i could own a Strat without the mid-boost control now.

Hope you enjoy. The Strat starts at around 2 minutes in after the Les Paul intro.

The Clapton circuit makes for a very versatile guitar. Many of us are die hard Lace Sensor people...particularly for that instrument.

+1

This configuration sounds KILLER with a Cornish rig and a pair of super lead overdrive heads!

Thanks for your comments guys :) .

Lenny...thanks and glad you enjoyed.

Thanks for the clip chromeface. I think his tone with the SLO's is my favourite. Love the sound of the solo on 'Forever man' as well.

If you check out my track 'Latitude', that features the Clapton Strat with the VN's. I like them as well but do prefer the Lace Sensors.

I've noticed that you've an Olympic White model.

Now you've the same guitar Eric used during his blues days in 1994/96!

Been up close and personal to that one. Not exactly the kind of gear you'd fit in close quarters.

There's a nice alternative: EC Twinolux (clean)+Dumble Overdrive Special (crunch)+Wampler SLOstortion.

Most of the effects from the Bradshaw/Cornish rigs were not used, so the only effects needed for nailing the late 1980s/early 1990s stuff are a DynoPiano tri-stereo chorus and a Vox McCoy wah-wah pedal.

You need to make a pilgrimage to NAMM some year. Represent yourself to the Wampler's as their 'numero uno' advocate to the Fender Forums.

I had a killer SLO model in my old Line 6 AX2 but there was no place for that amp in my new study in Florida. I left it with a friend who was still gigging. He owns a house with a very large basement studio full of gear. I knew it would have a good home, and be used well. He and the guys he's gigged with for years now go by the name 'The Bandits', and they've landed a regular annual performance at Dix Hills Performing Arts Center in Suffolk County, NY. They do a Dylan and The Band tribute.

Thanks for the idea and your modest advice but I'll politely decline your offer.

I own one of the last EC Strat that came with Gold LS, and I love the guitar.

Good choice.

Mine's an '89 Pewter. An early bird. We've already agreed on our mutual admiration for those Laces...many miles ago.
