I may forever regret it but...... You only live once ....
Strangely I still have my pair of knee high zip-up suede, fringed mocassins which I had bought in Kokomo Indiana..... The Todd Rundgren look was not well received in the middle of nowhere in Indiana back in 75.....

LOL, FIND IT and POST IT!!!! :D :D " ec ....... " Killing Floor ... ? ... Hey Mate .... !! ??

Man donnycraven, the Les Paul is sure purdy. It must me a Plus top? I had one almost like this but sold it to a friend:

Early 1970s. Using a Super Beatle amp and an Epiphone Crestwood Deluxe. with 2 mini humbuckers. Loved that guitar. Hair was a bit shorter in this pict than most of the time back then. We were doing a gig so I was "dressed up!"

Way to go Donny! Ain't easy makin' a living as a musician, but a lot of fun! Uhhh, from the Beatles to Black Sabbath? That's eclectic taste in music! :D

I agree, FIND IT and POST IT! I graduated High School in Albany, Indiana in '67 and headed for the East Coast that same month! There was a lot going on in the world outside Albany at that time!

I've got a call out to find a youthful pic of myself. Most of it went up in flames some time back. Nowadays the only pics anyone takes of me are when I'm holding my grandson.

Interesting how the thread has changed so dramatically but the title is still relevant, Sorta....

But back on topic, I found this article in Rolling Stone's top 100 guitarists list. Jimi was #1 and this is an excerpt from the article written by Pete Townshend: "With Jimi, I didn't have any envy. I never had any sense that I could ever come close. I remember feeling quite sorry for Eric, who thought that he might actually be able to emulate Jimi. I also felt sorry that he should think that he needed to. Because I thought Eric was wonderful anyway..."

Pretty heady stuff as I've always considered Townshend as one of the best pure Musicians and Lyricists in Rock and Roll.

Hi Xhefri .....  My caption is somewhat fictional but based on a true story...
In 66 Cream played a series of dates around the UK.... In particular was on October 1st at the London Polytechnic. Hendrix and his manager ( Chas Chandler ) showed up and asked to sit in.... Not knowing Hendrix, they weren't to keen to have him sit in but did. ( simply because they didn't know if Hendrix could really play ) funny and somewhat incredulous for us but at this time Hendix was an unknown, especially in England..
The story goes that he pretty much stole the show. It also was the first and last time Cream allowed anyone to sit in......

I'm recounting this from the book " Clapton, The Ultimate Illustrated History " by Chris Welch
Another interesting part of this is that for the October 1st gig Cream were hired by Nick Mason and Roger Waters.... Mason was the college entertainment secretary at the college..

Now as for my step back in time and pictures of my odd 1970's era dress codes, I'm buying a new computer ( a MacBook Pro ) so uploading pics will be possible....
I'm temporarily on an old HP laptop with XP, one that was a network Laptop, it has issues, not to mention that after 12+ years on an Apple platforms, I just find Windows so user-unfriendly....

Following on Danagos's post.... isn't it true that as musicians, artists we always believe it's just not good enough, there's always room for improvement...
There is nothing quite as satisfying as playing a guitar that you have built or living in a house that you copletely tore down and rebuilt.....

And of course I always see the faults while appreciating the result all at the same time... :?

Man it was so emotional I sang every song and shed tears.
So realistic so well done
John Lennon was just spooky good.
It was probably the best next to seeing Black Sabbath reunion

Reading that story made this sweepstakes in an email from Taylor Guitars today seem so appropriate :D

Well said 53mag, keep striving for perfection even though you'll never achieve it.

The Relic guitar build I just finished is my #1 guitar right now, but still, I'd like to add a switch for Bridge Pup on in any position. 8)
