Thanks Mike. Hope all is well with you in FL! I was just down in Orlando a couple weeks ago and wanted to meet up with zzdoc but he was 6 hours away. I think you are down there and then I remember, you are up north! :? So of us need to meet somewhere some time. Would be nice if Mr C comes back to the US we could plan a dinner together.

I'm doing well, Mr X! Yes, would be nice to get a group together
for a meet 'n' greet/jam/BBQ or something.

I met Doc last summer, just missed Ceri 2 or 3 years ago. Might be hooking up with Frank (FrankieTheKid) over the upcoming holiday weekend.

Triangulating our three points of origin, looks like Kansas City is the place. [good title for a song].

I am not sure the Forum saw this build? A close friend of mine from Czech Republic asked me to build his ultimate dream Strat. We ended up using a 1995 Strat Plus body that had aged to a nice creamy color and I had a really nicesolid Maple neck. We used a solid Maple pickguard to keep the wood look. The pickguards are custom made by a guy who lives back East. The pickups used were—neck: Blue/Gold Laces, middle: Silver Lace, and bridge Red/Red Laces. Each Dually has a 3-way mini switch. Really nice because in the neck you can get a fat type humbucker sound, or a bit leaner P-90, or even a 50's Strat with that nice 50's chime. All the way down you can mix and match pickups. He loves the guitar and it is used in his playing in 3 or 4 different bands around Czech.

My '97 Am Std had that finish and bridge. It had a rosewood board which I felt really worked with the body and I dropped the EMG DG20 in there. The whole effect w/the moto pickguard and cream colored plastic was killer. My only issue in that year was the swimming pool rout because it eliminated the ability to rout a pocket in the trem cavity to accommodate the battery ala the Clapton guitar. Pull out the the existing circuitry and drop in a Blue Lace at the neck and a red Dually at the bridge and you have the Strat version of the '93 TelePlus I used to own. [I used to own a lot of interesting guitars. :? ]
