I have a 2005 USA strat neck, but it has two string trees on it. I thought necks after 2002, or so, had only one string tree. It is not a "70's style" neck. Did some necks have two string trees on them in 2005? Everything about the neck seems legit. I appreciate anyone's help on this. Thanks. Steve.

Some 2005 Highway One have 2 string T

Are you sure is a 2005 American made guitar ?

Or a part-o-caster or fake ? Pictures will help

Not true.

All Highway 1 necks sport dual easygliding string trees as a standard feature since the introduction of that series in 2003.

If we talk about 2005 higway one , I have the Fender 2005 catalog and I see all Highway one.

But yes all H.O. Strat have 2 sting T . And H.O. Tele have one string T. That's is why I write NOT all H.O. have 2 sting T

To clear things up a bit: the first generation Highway 1 SSS Strats had the small headstock and 2 string trees. They were in production from 2003 until about the middle of 2006 when the second generation Highway 1 SSS Strats came out with the 70s-style headstock. I say "SSS" because the Highway 1 HSS Strats always had the 70s-style headstock/decal.

@john c

A very few post-2006 HWY1 Strats were loaded with pre-CBS features and sported a set of CS '69s.

These guitars were part of a limited-edition run as only 150 samples were made so far.

Question: Are the 2005 (small headstock) Highway One necks somewhat rare, or hard to find? I think that is what I have. I am having a hard time attaching my pictures of the neck (anyone have any tips on this?). It has a Z514xxxx s/n on the back of the neck and says "Made In USA" on the headstock and has "F. Perez" stamped on the neck along with the white sticker and the date of "Sept. 05, 2005" stamped on the neck. It also has a 2005 date stamped on the end of the neck. Everything seems to point to a legit usa neck. It has 22 frets, also, and is a one-piece maple neck. Are the Hwy One necks anywhere near as valuable as an American Std? Thanks again for everyone's help, I really appreciate it.

Fender always seems to have exceptions to every rule.

Check what they sell for on ebay. I imagine they might be a little less (they don't have the bi-flex truss rod).

No, there are plenty of them around; they just aren't changing hands all that often these days. Also it seems like the market was flooded with the second generation model toward the end of it's model life so there are a lot more of the say 2009-2010s around.

I agree with orvilleowner - these necks go for less than American Standard necks because they don't have the bi-flex truss rod.

Also thanks to chromeface - I don't believe I remember that FSR run with the small headstock. Again agreeing with orvilleowner - with Fenders there are always exceptions to every rule of thumb.
