Ok so I'm fishing for good words about my new pearl pick guard. I always wanted one, but my Stratocaster has a vintage style pick guard and as well a Kahler Spyder tremolo. So it takes a custom made guard to get it done.

I finally found a perfect place that does this, and sent them my original guard to make a template, numbered to my account. From now on, if I want a new guard they have the template ready for me.

Took three weeks to get it.

They did a nice job on it and if you decide you want to go another color they just look up your template.

Call me old school, but I prefer the original pick guard. I think a Tortoise color would look good with the guitars finish.

It was a toss up between the tortoise shell and pearl. I may get both, just something about the pearl look I really like so I jumped on it.

Well, I'm a sucker for the pearl guards and I like it. I like guitars that say, "Hey, I'm over here!" Nice job.

Usually I am a white pickguard man, but that pearl works on that guitar.

Disclosure: I have a 2005 Am Std in Chrome Red that I put a pearl on and I have a 1964 with a very (very) minty green pickguard.

I'm a big fan of white pearloid pickguards AND tortoise, just depends what the color of the guitar is as to which I go with.

White pearloid on blizzard pearl...

Image

Tortoise on arctic white...

Either way, I think it's hard to go wrong.

I like the tort guards that have more brown in
them than red, or a darker red. It's all good though. :D

Looks good mate. I had one on mine for years. I took it off though. A change is good.

I like the red one very much! Nice contrast, and it matches the inside of my case.

Man I'm glad I read the color you list, I was going to compliment you on the beautiful silver Stratocaster Very tasteful

+1 I am not a big fan of tort guards, except on black and vintage white. Great looking guitar BTW!

I agree, it depends on the color of the guitar. In this case, I like the OP's original PG better, but the Pearloid looks pretty good too, and a Pearloid PG looks great on the Blizzard Pearl. It's all a matter of taste. A tortoise PG looks good on Olympic Pearl.
