I am considering installing Custom Shop '69 pups in my 2001 Standard American Strat. A music store near me has a Classic Player '60s Strat for sale with "Custom '69 Pups", are they the same as the "Custom Shop '69" pups that Fender sells as aftermarket. I would like to try them out before I install.

I have played the Fat '50s, and they sound really nice, not sure which ones to drop in.

The Custom Shop '69 pickups are thin and weaker sounding in comparison to the Fat '50s. I own both sets and I unequivocally prefer the fatter, more robust output.

Thanks. I've tried Fat '50s in a guitar at a few music stores. The Custom "69s are proving harder to find. Anyone know if it's the same pick-up installed in the '60s players Strat?
