Where can I find one? I know fender doesn't make them anymore but I'd like to buy one. Any help would be great. Thank you!

I've been doing a bit of research on Floyd Rose trems lately, I must say I was very impressed with this particular Trem back in the day. Upon discovering a drawback was the die cast saddles- essentially this is a mini Floyd Rose Special if you were to compare it to other floyd systems. Also the fact that the setup which consisted of a LSR nut and locking tuners didn't help with tuning stability at all.

Before I go on- please remember these bridges were designed for the Strat player in mind who did not like large locking bridges, who still gave the Trem heavy use with dive bombing for example..

One thing to note, I'm going to dispell a myth here- if you want the tuning stability of a Floyd Rose system and you are looking at installing a mini-locking Floyd bridge, you will need to install a locking nut. Locking tuners or roller nuts won't do it. The problem with trems going out of tune is the imbalance of string tension behind the nut vs. in front of the nut to the saddles. After tuning strings to pitch and using the trem, unless there is a perfect balance of string tension and also in the trem springs, there is never going to be 'perfect return to pitch'. Roller nuts do not entirely address this issue- although they have made it better than a regular nut -however as soon as dirt, or rust hits the bearings, you only had problems again.

Perhaps that could be a reason why they are no longer made- by either Fender nor Floyd Rose or Schaller. they were really ineffective without the required nut install and they were designed for those who did not want a nut that didn't look traditional.

Locking tuners are only tuners that lock strings down to eliminate the need for pre winding around the string post- not for 'Floyd Rose locking nut' like tuning stability. They don't address the string tension issue behind and in front of the nut- I had to get that out there too, lots of misconception about their stability of tuning out there. :D

Good luck :)

I agree, nothing beats a double-locking system for tuning stability. 8)
