More curious things found on Craigslist...Surplus necks and bodies sent South for assembly?

No, I'm not in the market for another guitar (no, really)...but I found the backstory interesting and I am wondering if others know about these models? I have seen stranger things in the manufacturing world...or...it could be fiction.

Based on the selling price, there doesn't seem to be much residual value from the so-called American components...

???

Well he didn't post it on the Sacramento C/L page......perhaps all those there who might be in the market for a cheap Strat already know what the seller is trying to pull. Thus, he's seeking a broader customer base which might include someone ignorant enough to buy his bullshit (and his guitar).

Not sure about the back story there. But I've seen a few Mexican made "Squier Series" Strats. $125 is a good price.
