Hi everyone! Really need your help!
I have a Fender Deluxe Stratocaster, which was made in 2007. It has 2 posts modern bridge, LSR Nut and Locking tuners. Nice sound, but I have a problem with my trem. Actually it's used guitar, so I don't know is this trem original. As I can compare by photos it should be.

My trem do not staying tuned. Especially when I bend up notes with my bar - It becomes complitely out of tune... When I bend down... Not perfect, but kind of 'well'. 8.5/10. The difference is few cents. And I have to push down a bit my bar to get a more accurate 'retuning'.

I like Jeff Beck style working with trem so I have floating trem, and my previous guitar had a similar setup and worked pretty well.

I tried 2 and 3 springs, I tried not original but good springs, different setups - nothing works.

I've noticed my trem a little bit damaged where baseplate contact with pivots (posts) as I think.

Can anyone give me advice what should I do? What can I do?)
If I should buy a new one - which one?
What's the difference between
Genuine Fender American Standard Stratocaster Tremolo Bridge Assembly
http://www.stratcat.biz/099-2050-000.shtml
Genuine Fender American Deluxe (Ultra-Strat) Tremolo Bridge Assembly
http://www.stratcat.biz/003-6449-000.shtml

Which should fit to mine guitar?

Should I try schaller for better sound/quality к other brend?

Please help! :)

Hi dmpol18,

That is likely your problem. It appears that the posts were turned while the strings had tension, or it it just really worn. You probably just need a new plate.

Thanks shimmilou!

I see it's possible to buy baseplate separately but what should I know to buy one that fits to my trem? Or if only whole trem would be available what exactly should I buy?
Is any difference between 2-posts fender trems?
My strat manufactured in april 2007

P.S. I can't get any information from dealers in my country, that's why I ask you... If you could post maybe a serial number of baseplate or trem it would be great!
For example I've found GENUINE FENDER AMERICAN DELUXE CHROME STRAT BRIDGE PLATE 003-6527-000 but I have no idea is it compatible with my trem block...

P.S.2 Are this trems really stable or to buy one is kind of a lottery? like with first wilkinson roller nuts (as I heard)... Whether I should update it?
BTW I tried Gotoh 510 and it not fits accurately. The floydish base for the trem arm (near sustain block in which you turn in your arm) balk (contacting) with the top of guitar much earlier then sustain block.
So be careful before buying this thing and measure your guitar and this bridge 2 times!

That is the correct part number for an American Deluxe Strat bridge plate, so it should work for your Strat.

Just a thought - you have stretched your strings in properly, I assume?

Forgive me for making such an obvious suggestion, but IF you're a new player it's a mistake that can be made! And it will definitely affect tuning stability!

Cheers - Peter.

Thanks shimmilou!!! :)
My last question is about buying new tremolo. Could you tell me is any difference between 2-posts tremolos? Which one should I buy? (If it would be necessary to replace it for me)

to Peter S
I stretch my strings accurately before locking them in tuners, then I check that string is straight and not kinked.

The best system for tuning stability would be the Floyd Rose, or similar, double-locking system, which includes a locking bridge and locking nut. Next best would be a locking bridge, roller nut and locking tuners. The two-point bridges are typically better than the six-screw bridges, considering a standard nut and standard tuners on either system, and locking tuners can help either system.

If you can find a "Deluxe Locking Bridge", you might get a little better tuning stability than the current Deluxe bridge.

For me, I deck the bridges on some Strats, not using the tremolo at all, for solid tuning stability and better double-stop bends. As for the bridges that I don't deck, I don't use the bar and just use the heel of my hand for tremolo, and I have great tuning stability this way. Maybe someone here can chime in about some other bridges to consider that would fit your Deluxe.

If you want solid tuning and want to use the bar vigorously, nothing beats a good Floyd Rose and locking nut, or similar system.

I actually have one guitar with floyd rose. This type of bridge gives totally other tone comparing to fender tremolo. I prefer the tone and response of fender tremolo. But floyd is better in some situations, styles, tones, effects etc.
The whammy bar in my opinion is not comparable to finger vibrato because it sounds different. Anyway finger vibrato is #1 :)

My previous guitars had a pretty good and appropriate tuning stability with much cheaper tremolos, so that's why I asked about my problem with particular guitar.

Thanks for paying attention, you've really helped!
BTW I tried another tremolo and it worked fine, so I'm going to repair my own.
Wish you all the best in any musical aspects :) Thanks!

The problem is solved by baseplate replacement :)

Awesome!

Remember to release the string and spring tension before adjusting the posts to raise or lower bridge height.

Hi dmpol18
I had mega problems with tuning my deluxe and seriously thought about blocking my trem. Then someone posted a video on here by Carl Verheyen on trem set up for a Strat. I didn't have to change anything or add springs, just did what he said. It takes a bit of experimenting but it was worth every minute I spent. Check him out on YouTube. Worked miracles for me. I tried to post a link but it didn't work.
