Hey i just purchased an olympic white american standard and was thinking about replacing the bridge pick-up with a single coil sized hum bucker, possibly a seymour duncan lil 59 or a cool rails.Although i like the single coil bridge in the american standard's, its a bit too twangy and bright for my taste, i woudl like to get something that still keeps the strat glassyness, but had ab tit more bottom and mid range. If anybody has any suggestions either from their own modifications or from basic knowledge of the sound im looking for it would be greatly appreciated :)

I think Lace Sensors puts out a single-coil-sized humbucker. I love their pickups.

I would work with my amp's tone settings untill I found out for certain that I could or could not get the tone I wanted from it; THEN I would consider a stomp box, THEN I would consider a pickup change; but that's just me...

No one said he was a moron. Unfortunately the very first thing the average player thinks of is...... changing the pickups.

They don't think about:
changing pickup height
changing settings on the amp
trying FX
changing the settings on the FX already used
changing capacitor values
trying different strings/string guages
