Hey Guys, new to the FF. I've owned a bajillion fenders over time and figured it was time to join.

My problem, just picked up a Fender MIJ C Series strat off CL for $50, woot woot! But it is missing the bridge. Can anyone help me find one that will work for it? Does NOT have to be anything fancy. Can be an ALLPARTS floyd, if that will work or anything else you might suggest. Thanks!

It looks like it had possibly a Kahler Spyder as mine does. The cut out looks right.

I'm about 95% sure that model came with a "Schaller" Floyd Rose. The one engraved "Schaller".

For a MIJ standard model it would actually more than likely be a Floyd Rose II or Special as an originals were found on higher end MIJ and American strats. If the bridge anchor posts are hex screws, it will be a FR Special.

Fender supplies the Ping Floyd Rose Original bridges in the MIM series Floyd Rose Standard Strat, which is very different to the Schaller or US made Floyd Rose Bridges. still in my opinion are a better unit than the special.

Okay, so I just measured from post center to center and instead of being the dreaded 80mm that would be on a System One tremolo, this one is only 74mm. Thoughts?

Check out the Floyd Rose type trems at www.stewmac.com.
They list a 74.6 mm stud spacing. Hopefully that would work for you.

I ran across this Ebay auction today and remembered your post. This is the Strat model I was telling you about. I believe this is the same model as your guitar. I have a few HRR Stratocasters my self, so I'm quite familiar with all Floyd Rose models.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/MIJ-1988-89-Made-in-Japan-Fender-Stratocaster-Schaller-Tremolo-/200949647543?pt=Guitar&hash=item2ec98848b7

This particular model has a combination of unique features specific to this model. No truss rod adjustment at the head, sss pickup configuration, and a Schaller Licensed Floyd Rose tremolo.

I don't know what the name of this model is, but If you find out what trem can be used in place of a Schaller Licensed FR, you'll have a winner. May even be you can get an OFR in there. Either way, for $50, you sir scored!!!!
