I didn't order this one, I won it, autograph and all...but after I got it...it is one damn fine and smooth playing guitar. I like the tone of the lace sensors, and the soft V neck is so comfortable and this was the first guitar I had with the satin finish neck...did I say the neck is comfortable? It is my desert island guitar.

I have the same guitar in the same finish. It's an '89 serial number with a '90 neck end date. T2 and I share the same affection for it for all the same reasons. Unfortunately, you won't find them will Lace Sensors any longer since Eric gave the nod the Vintage Noiseless pickups over a decade ago. Still worth acquiring one notwithstanding.

I also have a Gilmour NOS purchased the month they were issued in '08. No pic necessary. You can find that on the Custom Shop Signature Series website.

He still uses Lace Sensors for slide because of the throaty tone he gets.

I'm not a big fan of the replacement pups. They just don't sound right to me. But that is a matter of taste. I have heard them on a few guitars, and I just don't like them.

I've also noticed that the necks are too white for me and don't feel the dame to me. I remember reading in the Fender Custom Shop book, where the author discusses how the neck finish into being.

Seems to me that the necks have always been a bleached maple which darkens a bit over time...long time....like T2's guitar and mine. What I dislike is that 'yellow' finish which passes for 'vintage'. I don't recall my '58 Strat having a yellow neck. It was lightly tinted...nothing like my Gilmour, '57 HR, or Deluxe Strat. Just say'in.
