You tell me what you think...but neither of these smell right to me...

http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/msg/3959511323.html

I'm doubting they are what they claim to be...even at a low price it doesn't seem right...

Those are both squires so they aren't much I begin with. If your afraid of like a fake, no sane person would fake a squire. Neither prices are that great. Don't be fooled by the fender name, they aren't actual fenders, but more of a fender licensed guitar. If you have a guitar already, don't buy em. They are no good.

They look perfectly legit, far as I can tell from small photos. And the price is about right for what they are.

Obviously, they ain't the finest guitars on the planet, but for a beginner or someone on a tight, tight budget you can do a lot worse. And which of us has not learned the ropes by modding the crap out of a Squier or two, at some point in our playing life? Good, simple entertainment! :)

Cheers - C

+10K...Great point Ceri, the first guitar I really "Modded" was a early 80s Squier! Some have good "bones" to start from.

What caught my eye was the back cover on the black one...the middle screws are aligned...I haven't seen a real Fender product that didn't have the middle screws offset...but...I haven't seen everything yet...

The red one had the right screw holes...but the "Bullet Series" decal on the red one...I was expecting a bullet truss rod or something...

I'm not in the market for one...just curious...

The "Bullet Series" is an entry level Squier. The other looks like an Affinity. Neither are complete junk. Worth about $80 where I am.

Ah-ha! Good eyes, well spotted.

And now you've got me looking closer the front and back headstock photos of the black one do not belong to the same guitar as the four pictures above. As Alice said; "Curiouser and curiouser".

Calls into question everything this seller says. A definite no-no.

Scrap what I said above. Note to self: it always pays to look that bit more carefully.

Cheers - C

Hmmmmm. I always thought one way to tell a squire body was the screw holes on the back were aligned. I'm no squire expert, but the holes on the trem covers on both of these certainly are different.

I have a hard enough time accepting the fact that people will fake a MIM Strat, let alone a Squier. At some point the law of diminishing returns has to kick in. I would have thought the MIM market would be that very threshold.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Hi, I got a squire strat lefty,a peavy vyper 15 amp,a gig bag, and a guitar stand for one sixty on craigs list. It's fifty percent off on craigs list give or take. It seems that the red one has switch issues.
