what is the one guitar from your own personal history that you wish you could get back?

I had two: 1976 Gibson Firebird, 1978 Fender Mustang...(both stolen).

Damn good question! We should see a bunch of good responses.

For me it was a 1978 Guild F412 Jumbo 12 string. what a sweet guitar. Someday I'll have to find another. I know they're out there.

I've only parted with a couple (that's why I have too many now), but one that I did let go was an early 80's Ovation Ultra Bass. The thing weighed a ton, and the truss rod was as tight as it would go, (the action was still too high) but it sounded great with a single Original P pickup w/a phase switch (I think) and a Kahler Tremolo. That's right, a Bass Trem that actually worked without any locking system. Just rollers on the bridge and a whammy bar. I learned to play on that bass..... Memories....

In 1972 I was given an old beat up Fender Bass by a friend of mine. Being a Lefty I would have to turn it upside down to play it. Him and I would take the bass and his guitar everywhere we went and just sit and jam for people where ever we were.
In 1973 I left and went in the military. Shortly after I left my friend died.
None of my family or I remember what happened to my bass.

I too lost my Firebird when I went in the Military...(U.S. Navy) And I also now seldom sell anything of my massive collection because, as one gentleman pointed out, I know I'll regret it down the line... By the way, I believe WD Music is based here in North Fort Myers, Florida is it not?

Hello Allanf64,

I miss my Gibson Johnny Smith.
Sold it for the down payment on my home.

From this keyboard to God's eyes I hope I
get another one.

Cheers.

Mine was a Gibson Les Paul Custom with a rare Silverburst finish and chrome hardware. It weighed a TON, and I was using other guitars to play out live cuz it was too heavy to play all night. I have a 1974 Ibanez Les Paul Custom Black Beauty that I used instead, so I sold the LP thinking I would get another one later. What a FOOL I was!!!
I also regret getting rid of my first electric, a 1979 Fender Musicmaster in black. That was the one that got me hooked on guitars. I sold it to a friend, who destroyed it. Oh well......

One of the things I love about this forum is how much i have learned. I have been playing for about a year and a half, and i joined this forum a few months ago. One of the first things I learned is to never sell a guitar because those who do regret it. I am happy to say i still have all of my guitars, and I don't plan on getting rid of them. Thanks for the advice (even if it wasn't intended.) I have a dream of growing up (if possible for a musician ) and having the hallways of my house lined with guitars with my first Squier mini stratocaster prized in a glass case.

I hope you get to do it too. Unfortunately things don't always happen as planned.

I know a guy that works for GC that can barely move in his apartment as he has over 150 guitars and many amps as well!

I had lost My Laney Gears and pedals at Poland in 1973. I never heard about lately
