Hello everyone,
I have a special stratocaster american purchased in 2011, unfortunately by the time I bought it always gave me problems tuning. The strings clash immediately and the difference in tone on the keyboard feel especially between the first key and after the twelfth of each string. In particular the rope SOL (G) is the one that he forgets to more and is consumed immediately compared to the other .. I took two years ago to the store to fix it but the problem has come back after a few weeks. How can I fix the problem? Thank you all in advance and I apologize for my english .. I'm Italian.

Greetings from the United States. My wife and I spent 12 days in Italy, and found it to be wonderful country. The food was very good and the coffee is far better than what we drink in the states.

As to your tuning issues; it sounds like you need to get the properly set up by a luthier. Many times the grooves in the nut need to be made wider to accommodate the strings. Also, the intonation appears to be off.

I would not take the guitar to a generic store. Take it too a guitar builder or repairman who really cares about setting up and fixing guitars. By doing this, you will receive quality work and he will know exactly what the real problem is.

Good lock!

+1

A full check-out and set up can turn a marginal guitar into a winner and a keeper.

There is another possibility. Many keyboards have the ability to alter their tuning reference point. They have this feature so they can tune to standard pitch or concert pitch and places in between. It's possible the keyboard is tuned to A444 or something else. There may be a small rotary knob on the back of the keyboard to adjust the pitch. Use your tuner to determine if the keyboard is tuned properly first. Then look at your guitar.

I agree, a new setup is needed. Beings you live in Italy, you have more humidity due to the Mediterranean weather. This could contribute to your problems as the wood shifts. Also leaving the guitar out of the case a lot could cause the neck to shift. I have this player Strat that i leave on a guitar stand and it seems like I am tweaking it every month to keep it playing nice. Whereas the ones in the cases are plug and play most of the time. Time to take your guitar to a good music store where they can set it up for you.

Welcome! I also have fond memories of my time in Italy...

Sorry to hear of your tuning troubles, but sometimes Stratocasters can be like sports cars...a bit difficult to get into the right settings but once it is there...heavenly. Don't give up yet, please find someone trustworthy...get personal recommendations...do not just find someone on the internet to setup your guitar.

A small investment in a digital temperature and humidity meter (20 Euros?) is probably a good idea to understand your local weather. Do you also have a clip-on digital tuner? Another good thing to pickup...

And...we like to see pictures...check out the forum guidelines to find out how to display pictures of your guitar.

Cheers.

It's interesting that you should mention that. I experienced the problem personnally. While I was on deployment, I played music with a chaplin who had keyboard that not "in-tune" with my guitar (no matter how often I tuned to 440). Since we couldn't change the pitch, I ended up having to use the chords a whole step higher then what was in the music.

Here's a sample of what I'm talking about.

This is one of the keyboards a former band mate had. Take a look at the back panel.

Too many things to tell without seeing in person. Personally if its going sharp, I would check the floating bridge. I had a squire once that had springs put on by I assume a 5th grader. They were crossed and just jammed in, for some reason the tighter the string tension was, the more the bridge would raise. It was a ticking time bomb because the tighter the string, the more the bridge pulled the opposite way. All I had to do was carefully redo the springs
