I do think people on here get a bit tetchy a bit too quickly.

show me somebody who reckons they've read the rules and agreements word for word, and ill show you a liar. I didn't read them. and to be honest this is the only forum ive ever been on where you CANT sell anything.

the first reply to this thread only needed to be "sorry rules say you cant sell on here".

that's it, one person to say that. no smilies, no smarmy comments, none of this +17837347924658096235 bo**ocks.

just one, polite 'sorry you cant do that here".

but the internet breeds keyboard heroes and false senses of high horse riding, aswell as just plain old rudeness.

moochy13 - you're right, a simple 'As per forum rules you are not allowed to sell or advertise on here' would have sufficed. Simple and straight to the point.

chromeface - thank you for adding the link to the rules and regulations, note to self actually read them before posting in the future!

Arnold Layne - toad? troll? I'll have to apologise for my ignorance here, I have no idea what you are talking about! I'm presuming these are some sort of gamer online slang or you are a Wizard and you were casting a spell on me! 'DOOOOSHE!' now then dooooshe is that a word? or the sound your wand made after you cast that spell on me? you may need it serviced or more practice as it appears nothing happened.

moochy13 - you seem like a normal person, I would definitely buy you a pint, Arnold Layne unless you have fake ID I'm afraid you won't be able to make it.

alas this will be my last post/comment so Arnie is it ok if I call you Arnie? I will allow you to have the last word so make it a good one.

I've read them many times. Anyone with common sense should do the same. I have no respect for those that don't. It is really unwise to agree to something without reading it first.

Hiya Shimmilou, I couldn't and wouldn't disagree. Though I wouldn't go quite as far as the "show you a liar" part, I would guess that a decent amount of people haven't read the rules/agreement (though yes, they have agreed to them). In other words, that theory isn't out of the realm of possibility. Obviously, the ones breaking the rules.......well that speaks for itself.

But I (obviously) would continue to agree that some folks have been a bit testy lately, which actually breaks the "Spirit" of the agreement/rules, which is to have intelligent and friendly discussions about musical instruments and music in general.

anyway....for whatever that's worth.

Hope ya all are having a good 'un.

Cheers,
rob

Rob, I'm normally very easy going, and try to be as helpful as possible, and get along quite well with my forum mates. I think we're all just getting a bit tired of the 1 post sellers, and the increase in spam traffic lately. Most of us here try to make it a helpful environment.

Hi Arnold....yes you are what you say you are!
Yep it IS a virtual bombardment of spam and spambots and I understand its frustrating and a distraction to say the least. I attribute the testiness mostly to that as well.
I won't make excuses...I'll just say that we're doing the best that we can, and really do appreciate you guys chipping in and reporting as you do cause it helps us get right to it.
Meanwhile, I hope that we can all ......uhhh my early teen era......"mellow out, man, dig"
It's all far-out.

Regards,
rob

Sometimes we forget that we should just report the post and not respond to it so that it falls lower on the page before being deleted.

Sorry, I have been a bit testees lately myself.
