I'm not a big fan of the Duel Lace Sensors. The Jeff Beck Strat used to have a Duel LS in the bridge, but it was eventually removed, right along with the LS.

Shortly after I received my EC Strat from Fender, they chenged them out. I'm glad that I was able to get the guitar before they changed the pups.

I was able to get my Home built Strat signed by Robert Cray. He was very cool about it, too. I asked him to sign my guitar and he said, "Sure, I'll be back in a minute."

About 5 minutes later he said, "Where would you like me to sign this."

I wonder if the T-Mobile Strat is identical or not to the aforementioned masterbuilt one-offs J.W. Black did in the late 1990s.

+1

The neck was slimmed down to a thinner C profile and a contoured heel was added - until recently.

Jeff's actual stage guitar sports three Suhr-designed custom wound stacks and a 1993 fat baseball bat neck with a Wilkinson roller nut.

The JB Custom doesn't reflect those changes.

1997 Collector's Edition Strat...with the 1998 Collector's Edition Tele the following year.
Here's one of the Strats on the 'Bay. I have no affiliation with the seller...

Had you played my '93 TelePlus with the red duallys at the bridge, you might have come to a different point of view.

Actually it was a Tele Plus, I found in a music store, that convinced me that I didn't like that style of pup.

I prefer a HB in the neck position of a Tele.

Thanks John, that's the guitar I meant, Limited. Great sounding Strat, cool 12th Fret inlay, etc. Yeah, definite tip of the hat to SRV.

Wonder why Fender never continued with these limited models.
If they had, they probably would have lost the distinction of being called Limited Editions. 8)

Nice reply. No, still limited if each year they came out with a limited qty with different color, different specs, etc-- inlay would reflect year; 98, 99, etc.
