Hello! I have a Robert Cray MIM model, and I'm upgrading some parts, primarily the tuners. I'm putting on the John Mayer/James Burton mother of pearl tuners and I wanted to change the bridge to gold so I can have all the parts match.

However, the music store I go to called Fender and said they don't sell the Robert Cray bridge in gold (even though they have them at the factory). I was wondering if there is any aftermarket gold hardtail that is the SAME as the RC one. I've seen the Amercian Standard bridge, but I would have to drill new holes and such and I'd rather not do that.

Any help? (I'll also post in the main forum too).

Thanks! (The link is to the type of bridge I'm looking for)

This one is out of stock

This one has the same correct bridge spacing but is a cheaper import bridge:

You can get it and replace the saddles or keep hunting for the USA spec hardtail bridge in gold. It seems quite rare to find.

Send to consumerrelations@fender.com and tell them you seek to purchase a vintage non-trem Stratocaster bridge in gold finish.

Even though I'm not a big fan of gold hardware, it tends to show wear and rub off over time.

Point well taken. It does get to look a tad 'dusty' as it ages. But don't we all.

What you got that's wearing and rubbing off, Doc?

On second thought, forget I asked.

In the matter of the guitar, it's been swapped out long ago. My point of view is formed pretty much by vintage gear I've seen. The finish looks dusky. On the other matter.....I've worn corrective lenses for years now.
