Please beware! You can order a fake from overseas with any lettering on it.
I checked with a chinese builder direct. He would put and stamp made in USA all over it with an up charge. He offered a s/n# as well. You can get lucky with a fake, just buy cheap! Do your homework.
I have 2 USA(MIA) guitars
1 Indian made
1 Korean made
2 chinese made
All fine guitars! w/a little upgrades;-)
Just don't by a fake! It's ok to buy foreign made guitars. Just not fake USA guitars.
Like the old saying "If it seems too good to be true, It may not be true"
Good luck!
Keep Jammin! Enjoy Life!

Then, apply the serial number on a copy and sell it as a Fender.

It's not just Europe, it's everywhere.
There are more reasons to not post serial numbers as well, such as insurance fraud.
I blur the serial number on every guitar or amp picture I post.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

And I thought I was just being paranoid. I guess I'll keep blurring mine.

Yea, I gotta agree...not only the size and style of lettering on the headstock (bad inkjet) and the neck plate (looks like that neck plate was etched and not stamped) but the lack of a truss rod insert, the 12th fret dot inlays and the tuners...that neck is -definitely- bogus. I can't tell much about the body, but the color and bridge look wrong too...the color reminds me of the 2 tone Squier Bullets from a couple of years back. I suspect the guitar probably plays decent enough but I wouldn't pay a penny over $75 for it.

Just my $.02,
Jim

Good to get Rob's 2 cents! I looks at that and thought, "Fender USA just does not make junk like that." Cheap tuners, cheesy logo, etc. Looks like a Chinese or Indonesian knock off!

This has already been established, but yes it's a complete fake. That is a real serial, so that's scary to think about... The logo was completely fabricated, and I have not seen that font with the serial number. That year would typically have made in USA on the back. Also the above all tell-tale sign is that any new strat from the corona factory will not have a straight hole for the truss rod. It will be neatly inlaid in either wood or plastic. All I saw was the headstock, so I don't know if its just a replaced neck, or what. Don't buy it, and if your in the states contact the person and notify them. If they continue to sell it as a fender, report them to the police.

That's a good one!

Half the time the cops won't even respond to a non-injury MVA where demonstrable and significant physical damage has occurred......unless the accident happened to occur in a Dunkin' Donuts parking lot.

Fuggedaboutit!
