Hey guys,
I'm new here.. I have a little problem.. Well I own a modded Mexican strat with Texas Specials and I'm having a bit of trouble finding a desired pickup height. Can anyone help me with any heights of their own?

8/64" bass side, 6/64" treble side; according to the above set-up guide.

Have you tried them real low?

I mean REAL low.

Lower them, then give them another half screwdriver turn lower.

Turn up the Gain on your amp.

Remember this:

The closer the pickups are to the strings = More Volume, More Distortion, Less Sustain.

Pickup height is a factor in the tone of the guitar.

If you do a search I posted a very detailed description on how to adjust pickup height.

One thing I would add. Don't think your pickups have to all be paralell to each other. In fact, adjusting the middle pickup so that it's treble side is closer and it's bass side is further away from the strings than the other two will give you much nicer in-between (2 and 4) sound. A little tilt does a lot.

I just use a small 6" machinists metal ruler, plop it on top of the pole piece, fret at the last fret and adjust for 1/8" on all p/ups all the way around.
