Cool.

Don't know if I need another guitar book--but it should be cool.

With apologies to stratele52 for the partial hijack of his thread, I would recommend The Interactive Fender Bible. I say "partial hijack" because it's by the same author, Dave Hunter.

This is an excellent source of historical information on Fender guitars. En plus, we get to hear the vintage instruments played through vintage amps. The DVD alone is worth the price of admission.

    Cheers!

+1!

Tom Wheeler's "The Stratocaster Chronicles" also includes an excellent DVD.

According to what I can find on amazon.com, (click to look inside) the book comes with an audio CD. Could the DVD be in a newer edition?

    Cheers!

I do have Forrest White's Fender Book and Tony Bacon's Fender Electric Guitars one as well--both good reads and some cool pictures.

"“The Strat was and still is the most recognizable image, sound, and pioneering guitar to ever make music. The first time I saw a Strat was with Buddy Holly and the Crickets on The Ed Sullivan Show. At the same time, I got a copy of Out of the Shadows from England and saw my first red Strat. The sound had me hooked.”
—Randy Bachman, from the foreword"

I've never seen Bachman play a Strat, but I'm sure that he has.

Randy Bachman has played a lot of different guitars in his life, and I have seen him with a Strat--at one point it seemed to be his main guitar.
Quote:
...I went to a store and asked for the lightest guitar they had. They handed me a Strat, so I modified it. Put a Gibson pickup at the neck, a Telecaster at the bridge and left the Strat in the middle, which worked great. I played that for years. That’s the one you hear on Let it Ride and You Ain’t Seen Nothin’ Yet.”

here Randy talks about the Strat-
