I've had this guitar for several years and I have logged countless hours on it. My Am Dlx strat plays a lot more smoothly and so I started looking at the fretboard and frets. I sanded some of the lacquer off the back of the neck and the fretboard with some really fine sand paper and that helped tremendously. I also noticed that the frets are pretty flat on top. There is some very obvious fret wear in a few places, but the frets seem to be flat everywhere. Is this normal for a 2006 Highway One. This is before the "upgraded" version came out with the big headstock and all. My Am Dlx strat has frets with nice rounded tops and plays like buttah. I am really attached to this neck and thinking about a refret. My question is: should the frets be flat, or is this a case of excessive fret wear?
