I got an Eric Johnson trem from ebay and the trem arm hole in the block is stripped and won't allow an arm to thread into it. I would really like to use the official EJ block if possible, although the vintage steel block is close, but has anyone had any luck re-tapping the threads in a trem block?

I believe it's 10-32

Re tapping tread could work if thread is not too damaged. You can't loose to try . I don't know if it is 10-32 .

Yes, if it is actually an EJ block, it's 10-32. If the block hole is stripped, that means that the threads are gone, and can't be tapped back to a smaller size. Tapping doesn't add threads, it removes metal.

I'm not sure if your block is thick enough, but you can try a HeliCoil threaded insert repair.

If treads are only damaged with tapping they could be fixed . Tremolo arm don't work hard on thread IMO

Stripped thread mean lots of thing and ......nothing to be sure

Ive got a 84 kramer that has the same prob,,I just wrapped 1" masking tape around a couple of time on threads on Wham bar,put in with circular motion, and it stays in place for quite a while, works just as if it had threads. Its worth a try anyways.

Ask the seller from flea-bay to make good. Return it.
