Post subject: S1 switch and new pick ups

my guitar has the S1 switch and if I get new pickups will i lose it?

i've never changed pickups so i have no clue, thanks.

What pickups are you looking at?

I may also be looking for a change. I like most of the tones I get, but I feel like the SCN pickups are just a bit lacking.

i'm using SCN pickups now that came with my '62

actually i was thinking about vintage noiseless... any other ideas? i really don't wanna lose my S1 switch if that's the case though.

As far as I know, as long as you use the same 3 wires the same way, you'll be fine. I'd just cut the old pup wires and solder them to the new pups. Shrink wrap to taste.

Roger that!....if all you do is wire the new pups into the exisitng circuit diagram without changing anything else.
