I've found someone selling a left-handed 1995 Fender American Strat (Serial #N564611) and I need to determine a price for it. He's asking $650 for the guitar and the Fender hardshell case and I'm wondering if that's a good price for it. The guitar is in very good to excellent condition. I've used a few websites (including posts in these forums) to determine that it's legit from the serial number.

I'm just wondering whether $650 is a fair price for the guitar. All of my research is pointing to it being an EXCELLENT price for the guitar, but it's hard to compare apples to apples using my internet searches.

Any help or info would be appreciated.

Similar right-handed instruments command between $625 and $700 on Ebay so I'd opine that the seller's price is center-of-mass for that model. Go for it.

+1, it's fair for both ends. Ofcourse he may be expecting a lower offer than his asking price.

Indeed.

Start your negotiations at $600.

Could need a fret dress after so many years, so no more than $600 . If you can try the guitar an no fret buzz anywhere , you can go for more .

If you can try 'er out and she speaks to you, the price sounds right in line.

A fret dress is a great idea.

Just if needed , some used guitar could need it . I buy a 1995 Stratocaster in 2005 and it need a fret dress . $60 if I remember. A 1983 Telecaster bought in 2000 never need any work.
