I am interested in buying the Ritchie Blackmore Strat. Since none of the stores here have one in stock I'm unable to try it out first. Has anyone out there had any experience with this guitar? I've heard that the strings are spaced wider apart than a standard strat and that it comes with the action way too high at the nut. Thanks! From a big Blackmore fan!

Spacing is wide, nut was cut wrong on mine (strings too high) but I change that on most of my guitars. I played several Blackmore´s during the last years and it doesn´t seem to be on all of them.
I use 10s strings on my Blackmore.
Not all players like scalloped fretboards, if you have any chance check and play one.
If you have a light grip already you probably won´t run into problems.
The neck radius is 7.25 that is very rounded esp. with a scalloped fretboard - you tend to move the strings sideways of the neck. It needs some practise.
A scalloped fretboard gives you more control over the strings. That is a very good thing for some and a very bad one for the others.
I enjoy playing my Blackmore it is a great guitar with a big tone.

All the best,
Robin

Yes, nice beefy sound. It has Seymour Duncan Quarter-Pounder strat pickups.

I had fun playing leads on this one.
