Hi Guys,

I need a vintage style bridge or block for my guitar build specs are:

The string spacing is around 54mm E to E.

The bridge screw spacing is at 56mm.

I would like a fender one with screw in trem arm but not sure if they will fit..any thoughts on which one will fit...

Thanks

Hi Pete: the block depends on the holes in the bridge plate to which it has to be fixed. That's the mounting holes, the string-through holes and the arm hole. All of those are in somewhat different places on different bridges and if they don't match perfectly the plate and block won't work together.

Just for example:

A 54 mm string spacing with a 56 mm six-screw spacing doesn't sound like a stock Fender bridge to me, though perhaps it is? Do you know the brand of the bridge?

Essentially, if it's a Fender US or Mexico bridge you can buy a replacement steel block from one of these:

And maybe one or two others I don't know about.

If it's another brand of bridge I suspect you're going to have such a hard or impossible job finding a steel block for it that it will be simpler just to buy a whole new bridge with the desired specs.

Cheers - C

The American Deluxe has a 54mm string spacing. The American Vintage Reissue guitars, at least the ones based on the 50's and 60's models have a 56mm string spacing.

I think the Standard (Mexican) uses 52mm, but has a screw in trem arm and vintage correct 6 screw bridgeplate.
