Post subject: tremolo arm problems... i need some help

i have a 1996 american strat with a 2 point bridge and i need a new tremolo arm. what's the thread size for this type of bridge?

i tried to put a 10-32 arm in, and it won't screw all the way in. about half the thread is sticking out of the hole, and the tip of the arm is left about 3 inches from the pick guard.

You probably have the remains of a broken arm in the trem block. Replace the block or struggle to get it out.

Or there is a spring jam inside .
