I cant believe there are not a whole lot more 50th guys and gals here on the real Fender forum.

These were killer guitars available for a short time.

Four years later I wish I had bought at least one extra.

And here she is with my other old timer look alike, my 52 reissue MIJ.

The only thing they did wrong on the 50th AMSE was to put modern saddles on them, it would have been perfect with vintage style stamped saddles.

other than that it is a good representation of a 54 strat.

I absolutly love mine.
Best sounding Strat ever made.
Not too bad on the eyes either.
I do think these 50th. Ann. Strats are very, very special.

After I got my first, one I bought a second to keep nice and pristine.
That was back when you could get one for $700.00-$800.00.

Indeed they are, there were a ton of them sold and yet very little forum talk goes on about them.

I really think they got scooped up by collectors.

I bought both the deluxe and the AMSE version, the deluxe was O.K. just not really any different than any other deluxe, the AMSE is an animal all its own, I kept the AMSe and sold off the deluxe, never could get myself to love the pups or the gold hardware.

I'lll be willing to bet when the sixty years strat anniversary gets here we will see a few of them pop up for sale, Bet there a bit more than the seven or eight hundred we paid for ours !!!!

"with over 2000 posts on the fdp to prove it!!!!!!! "

Over 3,000 now!

After getting the 50th AmSe.,..I sold,

My HWY 1
My 50th Deluxe
My Texas Special Fat Strat

I then bought,

'57 Thinskin,....then sold it
'00 Gibson LP Standard,..then sold it
'54 Thinskin,.......This one isn't going anywhere,...closest axe I found to the 50th AmSe.,while sounding similar to my 50th,it's awesome in it's own right,..besides looking almost identical to the 50th,but having the "vintage thing" going for it.

I like the 50th so much,..I wanted another guitar,as close to it as possible, without being another 50th!

Two Strats,..two Boogies,...I'm done looking to buy more gear,..I still look though!

Yeah,..I agree with you, about not much "interest" over here, about the 50th AmSe.

Probably, because it was already 3 years old when this forum was started up?

I hear ya, this forum will mature in time and we will get some of the old timers here posting usable content for musicians.

The other forum is run by tyrants and a bit too big brother for even me.

This one dosent close down threads to bully people like the other one does.

I sure hope we can get past some of the juvenile stuff that goes on here and get to posting things to help players get the info they need to move froward in music.

Ask a question about bias or pots or some music theory and you have a hard time getting any response, post whats you favorite tv show and you'll get a ton of responses.

Crikey, really? I'm very sorry to hear you feel that way.

There's certainly plenty of kidding around, which I for one take part in.

But I'd have thought this Forum rates particularly well for serious answers to serious questions. Can't help on biasing, I'm afraid, but I seem to be endlessly involved in long grown-up threads about wiring, finishing, fretting - and even music theory, on the rare occasions that comes up.

It's a shame to think that someone who's made such a big contribution to our enjoyment here as you is not having a good time. I have three Forum T-shirts thanks to you. I certainly appreciate your posts...

Cheers - C

Hello Blues Bondsman,

That 50th sure is a beautiful guitar.
I was planning on getting one but they are
difficult to obtain, rarely seen at swap/shows
not in local store as they get snapped right up.
It's one super desireable axe.
Keep having fun with yours.

Cheers.
