I don't like how high my whammy bar sits. I made the mistake of wrenching it in there a bit too much because, well, I'm no guitar tech. It ended with just a little scratching.

Any advice on this? I have the SRV strat and love the reverse, but it's just too high.

THE WHAMMY BAR, IS TOO DAMN HIGH!

I don't like the trem bars that come with the strats from Fender. I make my own custom bars. Never a height issue, but I like them to be a bit shorter, and the diameter to be a bit larger. If you have the ability to thread your own stock, you could give it a try.

Folks been bending them to fit their own style of play for 50+ years. I advise you do the same. Make small movements at a time, check the fit, repeat until it suits you.

Bend it in a vice inbetween two pieces of wood, so you don't mark it, if you don't have access to a vice , use the same method with the wood, but use a piece of heavy pipe and just bend a little at a time
