Hi, guys! I bought a used Fender Squire Strat and I want to know is it really Fender Squire. Ex-owner of this guitar says that it is Fender Squier Affinity Strat ME 2SB and it's made in Mexico. He also put there a Seymour Duncan Hambucker and says that it is made in 1989. Please help me to make it all clear. Is it a true information about this guitar? Is it an original guitar? Here is some photos:

The body of the guitar looks good, though it has been modified with the humbucker pickup.

I'm sorry but I don't think the neck is a Squier neck. The logo is at a funny angle and there is no black surround at the truss rod access hole.
Also the neck heel looks a little unusual.

I'm not too familiar with Squier guitars and this is a guess. I could be wrong.

So what's the deal with the odd screw at the top of the neck pup?

And people will fake a Squier? The seems to me like it must not be economically feasable.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

By no means an expert here,
but the headstock somehow tells me it´s a replica.

If it was in my hands and I liked how it sounds and feels,
I would get rid of the Squier decal and continue to modify
this guitar to my heart´s content.
Nothing wrong with a bare headstock, it would
restore the dignity of this instrument.

Assuming it is a replica, I think it is MORE valuable
without the Squier logo.

I think the key question here should be how much the OP paid for that guitar...
(Affinities with amplifier packs can be found brand new for under 200$...)

Oh, and if someone really and intentionally made a fake Affinity, that would probably be a first.
