i'm planning to block my bridge so I'll be able to use it only to lower the pitch(flush with the body). My question is, should I re-set my intonation after blocking the bridge?

Yes. Personally I would do a complete setup after blocking the bridge.

I just brought down my bridge to make it flush with the body. A new setup was required.

Blocking a bridge means inserting a piece of wood between the trem block and the back of the cavity so that the bridge can't move at all: a mod made famous by Eric Clapton, who didn't want a vibrato and felt a blocked trem gave a better tone than a hardtail.

I suspect that is not what you mean: you are planning simply to lower a floating trem so that the plate sits flush on the front of the body and then will only bend notes down, not up. A perfectly reasonable adjustment.

When you do this your saddles may move slightly, necessitating re-intonation. Much more significantly, the height of the strings above the frets will be greatly reduced. If you have a moderately low action the strings may now actually touch the frets even when played open. You will have fret-buzz from hell.

A major re-setup is therefore unavoidable. It may be that the action can be put back where it belongs just with adjustment of the trussrod. But quite possibly the neck pocket will need shimming, unusually with a shim at the top/lip of the pocket, to bring the neck more upright. You'll be lucky if this can be achieved merely with the tilt mechanism (if present).

In other words: get this adjustment done by a tech who knows what he's doing. Don't mess with this stuff unless you are sure what you are up to.

i'm not lowering the bridge at the posts, i'm just adding an additional spring on the back side of the guitar.

As long as you back the claw screws out a tad to comp for the additional tension of the springs, and the bridge plate remains at the original angle, no need to intonate.
