I'm looking for a nice solid-state amp. Im thinking about the Fender Mustang I or II. I want to use it for practice or to use in backyard parties. What do you guys think?

Do you want solid state for price considerations or is there another reason?

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

If you want a modeling amp with all the effects built in, then the Fender Mustang is the best in the market. I have the Mustamg II V.2 . It's a 40 watt combo which is very loud and is good enough for small gigs. If you want something that's more of a meat and potatoes amp without any effects, then I would go with a Peavey Bandit. I have a 1989 Version which is still kicking butt. They're rated at 80 watts and are great for any genre of music IMO.

Mustang III V.2 would be a hard SS amp to beat!

I have a Fender Frontman 100 watt. It's good for practice and gigs. If that's too much, the Frontman 25 watt might be a better choice.
